Scaly Adventures E-Learning

Tanya Curren is an award-winning educator and the co-creator of the "Scaly Adventures ®" television series. A former nationally board-certified educator, Tanya has experience in the public, private and home educational fields. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Education degree from Kennesaw State University in 1995 and began her education career in Miami, Florida. She has also taught in Georgia and South Carolina. Her specialty is in early childhood education. She is the co-creator of the "Scaly Adventures" television series, a broadcast television series that airs weekly on 6 continents on multiple networks. In this role, she serves as the Director of Education for Scaly Adventures®, where she develops in-school and virtual presentations for youth of all ages. Her focus is directed at motivational messaging to youth with special emphasis on animals and adventure, STEM/STEAM career paths, self-esteem, anti-bullying, diversity and inclusion, substance abuse prevention, youth mental health and suicide prevention. She is Certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid with the National Council for Behavioral Health. She has been recognized for her work by the State of South Carolina in a formal House Resolution. Additionally, she was awarded the Environmental Educational Association of South Carolina's Non-Profit of the Year. Most recently, she was inducted into the Kennesaw State College Bagwell College of Education's Educator Hall Of Fame. Tanya makes her home in the upstate of South Carolina with her husband Rick. Her son, Pierce is a full scholarship student at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Tanya educated Pierce at home from kindergarten through his graduation from high school.
